Brandon Hunter is a print & web designer

I started my undergraduate education as a psychology major, interested in how perception is mediated from the occular system to encoded memory. It wasn't long into that major that I began to become fascinated with the human eye. I decided to take a plunge and sign up for a few graphic design classes.

Graphic design makes me curious. Many contemporary design thinkers place intense importance on visual communicators, in that we are able to sway with visual messages; something that far outweighs written text alone. Through this, designers are ushers of messages, serving as mediator to an audience that share a common visual and textual literacy. My time as a student and freelance designer was spent exploring how to manipulate the expected. My portfolio is a demonstration of approaching a problem from a different angle. To provide safe, expected design is a conservative approach, but that does not accurately reflect the times we are living in. The rapid movement of society-at-large and the fast-paced venue of the Internet makes my audiences more adept at receiving different vehicles of communication. I get much joy out of delivering exactly what the client wanted and needed, without them specifically asking for it.
